N.J. Rejects $450M Stem Cell Proposal  

. . .  the measure was opposed by anti-abortion activists, conservatives and the Roman Catholic Church because it would pay for research that destroys human embryos and would increase state debt.

Here’s an unsung hero of the week: Kristen Kern is a 15 yr old high school sophomore who has juvenile diabetes.  Although too young to vote, she bravely voiced her convictions when interviewed about the referendum and the research it would fund:

“I think it’s very selfish for someone to believe in killing just so they can lead a slightly more comfortable life,” she added. “Even if I’m cured, I don’t want to live with the fact that it killed thousands and thousands of babies.”
